Choose a Licensed Hauler
As you are aware, Salisbury Township currently has a curbside recycling program. We have 5 licensed haulers within Salisbury Township to dispose of waste and to collect our recyclables.

1. BFI Waste Systems: 717-786-4659
2. C & S Disposal: 717-445-0085
3. Waste Management: 717-394-8641
4. York Waste Disposal: 717-581-8383
5. BLR Disposal: 717-445-8268
7. Eagle Disposal 717-355-9560
6. Quality Disposal 610-286-5172

We would appreciate your cooperation in choosing a licensed hauler to
dispose of your waste.

As a licensed hauler they are responsible for collecting and transporting
regulated municipal waste and designated recyclable materials. The licensed
hauler must maintain a valid license from Lancaster County Solid Waste
Management Authority (LCSWMA). They have also agreed to comply with all
LCSWMA’s rules and regulations and comply with the Township Ordinance.

The Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority has also implemented
several new recycling programs that we encourage you to participate in.

The first program is called the “Lights Out Program”. They are now
accepting fluorescent lamps and ballasts for recycling to remove mercury
from the county’s waste stream and from the Resource Recovery Facility.

This program operates as an extension of their Household Hazardous Waste Facility. The facility will accept bulbs from Lancaster County residents
and businesses that generate less than 30 bulbs per month.

Best of all- It’s FREE!

All you need to do is take your bulbs and ballasts to the Household
Hazardous Waste Facility during their normal operating hours which are
listed below.

Another recycling program that has recently been established by the LCSWMA is the computer recycling program. Computers contain 5-7 pounds of lead and other metals that can be reused or recycled.

Computers and associated items such as monitors, printers, and keyboards
will be accepted from Lancaster County residents at NO CHARGE.

Up to 5 computers will be accepted from Lancaster County businesses at a
minimal fee of $10 for each monitor and $5 for each CPU.

Computers will be accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility,
located at 1299 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Hours are as follows:

  • Monday 12:30-3:30 PM
  • Tuesday 12:30-3:30 PM
  • Wednesday 8:30 AM-Noon
  • Thursday 8:30 AM-Noon
  • Friday 8:30 AM-Noon
  • 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month from 7:30-10:30 AM.

Please feel free to contact LCSWMA if you have any questions or need
additional information (717)397-9968.

Please take advantage of these newly formed programs to dispose of your used household items. LCSWMA has many more recycling programs that may help you to dispose of unwanted, used equipment and other household supplies. Call LCSWMA at (717)397-9968 or visit them on the web at www.lcswma.org.

Thank you in advance for your help in making these programs a success and
helping to make Lancaster County a better place.
